KOLLISOLV PEG 8000

Kollisolv® PEG 8000 is a white or almost white solid with a waxy or paraffin-like appearance. Very soluble in water and in methylene chloride, very slightly soluble in alcohol, practically insoluble in fatty oils and in mineral oils. Benefits • Kollisolv® PEG 8000 will not support microbial growth, even in aqueous solutions • Versatile, water-miscible vehicle used as solvent and solubilising agent for active substances and excipients in liquid and semi-solid preparation • Can be paired with BASF surfactants (for example Kolliphor® RH 40) to promote solubilization of poorly water-soluble APIs • Can be used for crystallization inhibition with BASF polymers (for example Kollidon® 12 PF) • Can also be used as a chemical intermediate in drug formulation • Wide acceptance in pharmaceutical application for over 50 years Functionalities: Binders, Plasticisers, Solvents, Structurants & matrix builders, Consistency factors & viscosity enhancement
